Events
Here we go, everyone! Preparations are in full swing... the machine is running at full capacity, and a large number of organizers and volunteers are getting Collepino ready, checking every meter of the 11 km course with a 550-meter elevation gain that the athletes will run 1, 2, or 4 times!
The Subasio Crossing is officially in its third edition!
It has become a must-attend event for national and international trail running enthusiasts and has inspired the creation of many other sports events in the area, giving courage to many groups and associations of different disciplines... Beauty and Passion are always contagious!
Since it is not "just" a trail running race but also a Celebration of Sports and its values, Friendship, well-being, the Beauty of Umbria, and the connection with nature... not only athletes and their companions are invited to participate, but also all those who identify with these values and this way of interpreting life.
There are also a significant number of other events surrounding the competition that are worth highlighting to ensure you don't miss them...
**SATURDAY, MAY 18**
In addition to the bib number pickup for athletes in the afternoon, there will be three other important moments:
- In the morning, at 9:00 AM: Spello Gravel, the first edition of a captivating event organized by Spello MTB Cycling. Two spectacular routes of 40 and 60 km. At the finish (around 1:00 PM), a grand refreshment will welcome all participants. For more information and registration, follow this link: https://www.spellomtbcycling.it/spello-gravel/
- Also in the morning, from 8:45 AM to 1:00 PM, "Umbria Crossing Trail Camp", under the expert guidance of Donatello Rota, an internationally recognized athlete and highly experienced coach. Anyone thinking of participating in a Trail (or even an Ultra trail) will experience a workshop on running techniques, focusing on how to tackle climbs and descents, choosing the right gear, and race strategy; participation is free with registration by emailing: [email protected]
- In the afternoon at 6:00 PM, in the SQUARE IN FRONT OF THE SAN SILVESTRO CLUB, in the HEART OF COLLEPINO, journalist and writer Roberto di Sante will present his book "CORRI: dall'Inferno a Central Park," where he tells how running saved him, giving him life and the joy of living again... he will be accompanied by actor Sebastiano Gavasso, who will perform some scenes from the theatrical show inspired by the book. Roberto Di Sante's book has just been awarded the prestigious "Premio Nazionale di Poesia e Narrativa Alda Merini," dedicated to the great poetess.
- Following this, an aperitif with music and a DJ set, always in the heart of Collepino, in collaboration with La Locanda and Birrificio F.lli Perugini to celebrate, with lots of cheerfulness, the many colors of running.
**SUNDAY, MAY 19**
- Bib number pickup from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM
- Pre-race briefing at 8:45 AM
- At exactly 9:00 AM, the start of the SUBASIO CROSSING, the actual trail and ultra-trail race of 11k, 22k, and 44k (the 11 km race is also non-competitive). For more information and to register, follow the link to the official Umbria Crossing website: https://www.umbriacrossing.com/index.php/tour/

**TRAFFIC REGULATIONS**
Hundreds of athletes, friends, curious onlookers, and visitors are expected in Collepino over the weekend of May 18 and 19... on Sunday, the 19th in particular, there will be several impacts on traffic to allow the safe flow of so many people:
- From early morning, traffic on Provincial Road 249, which goes up from Spello to Collepino, and the road that goes down from Collepino to Chiona (via Ponte di Parasacco) will be one-way: the former will be passable only uphill, while the latter only downhill.
- The very first stretch of Via Subasio that goes from Collepino to the first curve will be closed, and from there to the Eremo delle Piccole Sorelle di Maria, it will be uphill only. To return to Spello, from there, you can go on Via Sportella and continue on Via di Valle Gloria Vecchio.
- Traffic from Collepino to San Giovanni will not change, but there will be alternating one-way traffic during the event.
Cars can be parked along the one-way streets, and volunteers will be there to help and guide you.
Traffic will gradually return to normal from mid-afternoon on Sunday, the 19th.
Come in large numbers to this Event, which is actually a Celebration that honors the Beauty of Umbria through sports and its values!
Mark your calendars and register for the various activities and races if you haven't already! https://www.umbriacrossing.com/index.php/tour/
